PanDownload alternatives that still work (2026)

Updated October 2026 · 4 min read

PanDownload was the tool everyone used to pull Baidu Pan files at full speed without paying for SVIP. Its developer was arrested in 2020 and the project died with him. Six years later, people still search for it every day. Here's what replaced it — honestly rated.

Why the "free full speed" tools keep dying

They all worked the same way: pretend to be Baidu's own client or borrow a leaked VIP session to dodge the throttle. Baidu patches these paths, and running them at scale is exactly what got PanDownload's author prosecuted. Any tool promising free unlimited speed today is either already broken or about to be.

The alternatives, by use case

1. You have one link and just want the file → a download service

Services like BaiduFast act as the middleman: paste the link, they fetch it at full speed and give you a direct download link. No account, no software, pay per link, small files free. Best when you don't want to touch Baidu at all.

2. You download from Baidu every week → a command-line client + your own SVIP

Several open-source command-line clients for Baidu Pan exist on GitHub. They download with many parallel connections, but they do not bypass the throttle — on a free account you'll still get ~70 KB/s. With an SVIP account they are the fastest self-hosted option and handle folders well. You need a Baidu account, a terminal, cookies copied from your browser, and patience each time Baidu changes something.

3. You're on a Chinese network anyway → the official client + SVIP

If you can register and pay (¥30/month), Baidu's own client with SVIP is fine. The pain is entirely in registration and payment from abroad.

4. Cloud-to-cloud transfer tools

MultCloud and similar services can copy from Baidu to Google Drive, but they still need your own Baidu account logged in, and their free tiers transfer slowly. Useful if you already have an account and want files to land in Drive.

Questions people still ask about PanDownload

Is PanDownload still working in 2026?

No. The original PanDownload has not worked since 2020, and every download that calls itself "PanDownload 2.x", "PanDownload revived" or "PanDownload mod" is either a dead build that fails at the login step or a repack with something extra inside. If a page promises unlimited full-speed Baidu downloads for free in 2026, it is not real.

Are the PanDownload APKs and EXEs on download sites safe?

Treat them as malware until proven otherwise. Several of the popular repacks bundle miners or credential stealers, and they ask for your Baidu login, which is exactly what you should never type into a third-party tool. A legitimate service only needs the public share link and the 4-character extraction code.

Is there a PanDownload for Android or iPhone?

There never was an official mobile version. On a phone, the practical route is a web service: open baidufast.com in the browser, paste the link, and download the result with your normal browser or a download manager. Nothing to install.

What speed can you realistically expect today?

On a free Baidu account, 50–70 KB/s no matter how many threads you open, because the throttle is per account, not per connection. On an SVIP account, full speed — about a minute per GB. Any tool claiming full speed on a free account is lying or borrowing someone else's session, which is how PanDownload ended.
