How to download from Baidu Pan without an account (2026)

Someone sent you a pan.baidu.com/s/… link. You click it, and Baidu wants a Chinese phone number, a client app, and then throttles you to dial-up speeds anyway. Here is what actually works today, tested — not a list of dead tricks from 2019.

Why Baidu Pan links are so hard to open outside China

Three separate walls stack on top of each other:

• Registration. pan.baidu.com asks for a mainland phone number for most sign-ups; international numbers are accepted only in some countries and often fail verification.
• The client wall. Files over a few hundred MB won't download in the browser at all — Baidu redirects you to install its desktop client (百度网盘).
• The speed cap. Free accounts are throttled to roughly 50–70 KB/s, no matter how many connections you open — a 1GB file takes 4–5 hours. Why, here.

Option 1 — Use a download service (fastest, no account)

A service like BaiduFast fetches the shared files at full speed and hands you a normal direct link. You never touch Baidu.

• Paste the link and extraction code, see the exact size and price first, then confirm.
• About a minute per GB.
• Folders arrive as one ZIP with the folder structure intact; we verify the byte count matches Baidu.
• Small links are free; larger ones are pay-per-link with no subscription.

Option 2 — Register anyway (works sometimes)

If your country's numbers are accepted, the Baidu Netdisk mobile app registration is more forgiving than the website. You'll still face the client wall and the free-tier throttle, so this only makes sense for tiny files or if you're willing to pay Baidu for SVIP yourself (¥30/month, mainland payment methods or some foreign cards).

Option 3 — Ask the sharer to re-upload

Boring but reliable: ask for a Google Drive, MEGA or OneDrive copy. Not an option when the file is from a paper, a GitHub README, or a community post — which is where most Baidu links come from.

What no longer works

• PanDownload and most "direct link generator" scripts — shut down or broken since Baidu changed its share API. Alternatives here.
• Browser user-agent tricks to bypass the client wall — patched years ago.
• "Free VIP cookie" lists — dead within hours and a security risk.
