Rockchip SDKs and board firmware on Baidu Pan: where to look first, and how to get the ones that only live there
You bought an RV1126 camera board, an RK3588 SBC or a no-name Android box. The vendor's wiki says "SDK: download here", and the link is pan.baidu.com/s/… with a four-character code underneath. You cannot register without a Chinese phone number, and the web page will not let you download a 20GB folder anyway.
This post covers two things. First, where the same files often exist somewhere else, so you may not need Baidu at all. Second, what to do when the Baidu link really is the only copy, which with small board vendors is common.
Checked September 2026.
Look here first: official copies outside Baidu
Rockchip and the bigger board makers publish a lot outside Baidu. Try these before anything else:
| What you need | Where to look |
|---|---|
| RKNN toolkit, NPU runtime, model zoo | Rockchip's own GitHub: airockchip/rknn-toolkit2, rockchip-linux repos |
| Luckfox Pico (RV1103 / RV1106) SDK | LuckfoxTECH/luckfox-pico on GitHub, full SDK via git clone |
| Firefly boards (RV1126, RK3588 cores) | Firefly publishes source on GitLab (firefly-linux) and firmware on its wiki download pages |
| Orange Pi 5 family (RK3588) | The Orange Pi wiki download page lists Google Drive next to Baidu for most images |
| Mainline Linux / U-Boot for RK3588 | Upstream kernel and U-Boot; Armbian and Joshua Riek's Ubuntu builds for popular boards |
If one of these fits your board and your use, use it. A file from the vendor's own server or GitHub is one you can verify and re-download at will.
When Baidu is the only copy
It usually is in these cases:
- The vendor BSP for your exact board. Small vendors (camera module makers, industrial board shops, AliExpress sellers) customise the Rockchip SDK for their device tree, sensors and screen, then share the whole thing as one Baidu folder: a multi-GB SDK tarball split into parts, a prebuilt toolchain, docs in Chinese and a few firmware images.
- Older firmware and flashing tools. RKDevTool / AndroidTool versions,
update.imgfiles for TV boxes and tablets, factory images for discontinued products. The only surviving link is often on a Chinese forum. - "Complete package" folders. Datasheets, schematics, reference designs and SDKs zipped together by a distributor.
A real example from our own queue this month: an RV1126 board support package, 21.4GB in 501 files, delivered 32 minutes after the customer confirmed. An ESP32 learning package of 4.4GB / 200 files took 12 minutes. A 0.7GB Android box firmware took about a minute.
Your options
- Ask the seller. If you bought the board, the seller can often put the files on Google Drive or MEGA, or send a USB stick. Ask before you pay anyone else. It is the cleanest route.
- Get a Baidu account. A mainland Chinese phone number is needed to register. Even with an account, the free tier downloads at roughly 50–100 KB/s, so 20GB takes days, and folders over a few hundred MB push you to the desktop client. We measured the throttle in why is Baidu Pan so slow.
- Ask a friend in China. Works if you have one with SVIP and an evening to spare. 20GB of BSP is a lot to ask.
- Have it fetched. Full disclosure, this is us: BaiduFast keeps a premium account, pulls the folder and gives you an ordinary HTTPS link. Paste the link with the
?pwd=part, see the real size and price before paying, then download with a browser, wgetor aria2. Links up to 150MB are free, one a day. Beyond that pricing is per GB with a cap: that 21.4GB BSP was $4.80, because everything up to 50GB is capped there (pricing). Folders come back as one ZIP with the directory tree intact.
Nobody in that list needs your Baidu password. If a tool asks for one, walk away.
Quark Pan (pan.quark.cn) and 123pan links, which some vendors now use instead, work the same way.
After the download: the part that actually breaks builds
Getting the files is half the job. SDK folders have a few habits that waste an afternoon if you do not know them:
- Extract on Linux, on ext4. Rockchip SDK tarballs are full of symlinks, and many files differ only by letter case. Extracting on Windows, or onto an NTFS/exFAT drive mounted in Linux, silently breaks both, and the build then fails far from the real cause. Copy the archive into your Ubuntu build machine or VM first, then extract there.
- Join split archives first. Parts named
sdk.tar.gz.aa,.ab,.acare one file cut up:cat sdk.tar.gz.a* > sdk.tar.gz, then extract. Parts named.7z.001or.part1.raropen with 7-Zip or unrar pointed at the first part. Missing one part means the whole archive fails, so count them against the folder listing. - Check the MD5. Vendors usually put an
md5sum.txtor the hash in the file name. Runmd5sum -cbefore spending an hour extracting a truncated file. - Look for
.repo. Many SDK packages are a compressed repo checkout. After extracting,.repo/repo/repo sync -lrestores the working tree from the local objects without network access, as the Firefly and Rockchip docs describe. - Use the Ubuntu version the vendor names. Older RV1126 / RK3399 SDKs expect Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04; newer RK3588 and RV1106 SDKs target 22.04. A Docker container with the right release saves fighting the host's GCC and Python.
- Flashing tools are Windows-first. RKDevTool and the USB driver assistant run on Windows. On Linux use
rkdeveloptoolorupgrade_tool. Put the board in Maskrom/Loader mode as the vendor manual describes.
FAQ
Is downloading a vendor SDK this way legal? The vendor shared it publicly for its customers, and we fetch exactly what is behind the link you give us. Licences inside the SDK (GPL parts, Rockchip binary blobs, vendor terms) still apply to you as they would with any download.
What is 提取码?
The 4-character extraction code on a Baidu share, separate from any account. It usually appears in the URL as ?pwd=xxxx and in the text next to the link. Without it nobody can open the share.
The link says the share is gone or expired (分享已过期 / 啊哦,你来晚了). Then it is gone for everyone, including any service. Ask the vendor for a fresh link. You can test any link for free with our Baidu link checker.
Can you fetch only the SDK and skip the 8GB of demo videos? Yes. Tell us in the Telegram group which files you need and we split the job, so you pay only for what you take.
Can I wget the result straight onto my build server?
Yes. The download link is a plain HTTPS URL with no login, and it resumes if the connection drops.
Only download software you have the right to use. We are a technical bridge: we fetch what is behind a link you already have. Rights holders can reach us on the DMCA page.
Written September 2026. Vendor download pages move. If a link here goes stale, tell us in the Telegram group and we will fix it.
Paste the link on the home page — you see the exact size first. Free under 150MB, no account, direct or Google Drive link.
