Baidu Pan download in 2026: every method that still works (and which ones are free)

If you landed here, you probably have a pan.baidu.com/s/... link, maybe a four-character extraction code, and a file that refuses to come out. This is the short, honest version of what works in September 2026. We run a Baidu Pan fetcher ourselves, so we test this stuff every week — and we tell you where our own service fits, and where it doesn't.

The problem in one paragraph

Baidu Pan (百度网盘, also called Baidu Netdisk) is where a huge share of Chinese-language content lives: game mods, datasets, subtitles, firmware, courses. Three things make it painful from outside China: registration usually needs a mainland phone number, free accounts are throttled to roughly 50–70 KB/s (we measured a 1 GB file at over four hours), and the web player pushes you to install the desktop client for anything bigger than a few hundred megabytes.

Method 1 — the official client with your own account

Still the "proper" way. If you already have a Baidu account with a Chinese number, install the desktop client, save the share to your own drive, then download.

• Free account: works, but expect 50–70 KB/s. Fine for a 20 MB PDF, hopeless for a 5 GB folder.
• SVIP (about ¥30/month): removes the throttle. We measured 8.7 MB/s with 8 threads, 15.8 MB/s with 16, 19 MB/s with 32 from a European server. This is the fastest path if you download from Baidu regularly and can pay in China.

Cost: free or ~¥30/month. Blocker: the account itself.

Method 2 — browser tricks (mostly dead)

The old favourites — spoofing a mobile user-agent to get a direct link, the wap page, the "PanDownload" family of tools — were patched one by one between 2020 and 2025. Some GitHub scripts still surface, and each one has a comment thread of people saying "doesn't work anymore" underneath. If a guide doesn't have a 2026 date on it, assume it's gone.

Cost: free. Reality: you'll spend the afternoon.

Method 3 — ask someone in China

Genuinely works for small files: a friend saves the share to their drive and re-uploads to Google Drive or WeTransfer. It falls apart above a couple of GB (their upload speed, their patience) and it's not something you can repeat every week.

Method 4 — a fetch service (this is what we run)

A fetch service holds a paid Baidu account for you: you paste the share link and code, it saves the files to its own drive, downloads them at SVIP speed, and hands you a normal download link or a Google Drive folder. No Baidu account on your side, nothing to install.

How ours, BaiduFast, works:

1. Paste the link (and the 提取码 if there is one). It shows the exact size first — nothing is downloaded until you confirm.
2. Free for small files (the exact limit, currently 150 MB, is always shown on the homepage), no account, no signup, a few links a day. Bigger files are priced by size (a 5 GB link is about $2.19) and you see the number before paying.
3. Folders come out as a single ZIP with the structure intact, verified byte-for-byte against Baidu. Most files under 1 GB are ready in a couple of minutes.

Cost: free for small files, a few cents per GB above that. Limitation: it's Baidu Pan only (no Quark or 123pan yet), and very large links can take an hour or two.

Other services exist; compare them on three things — do you see the size before paying, is there a free tier, and does the site say who runs it.

Two tips that solve half of all "it doesn't work" cases

Check the link before anything else. A surprising share of "how do I download this" posts are about links that are already dead — the owner removed the share, or it expired. A free link checker tells you in a couple of seconds whether the share is alive and what's inside, without downloading anything.

Find the extraction code. If the share needs a code (提取码), nobody — no tool, no service — can open it without it. It's four characters and it's almost always right next to the link in the README, paper, or forum post. Links that end in ?pwd=xxxx already include it.

Which one should you use?

• One-off small file → fetch service, free tier.
• Regular downloads, you can pay in China → your own SVIP account.
• Multi-GB folders, no Chinese account → fetch service, pay per link.
• Dead link → nothing works; ask the sharer for a new one.
