How to download from 123pan (123云盘) outside China in 2026 — and why the old tricks stopped working

123pan (123pan.com, also 123684.com, 123865.com, 123912.com, and 123云盘 in Chinese) used to be the friendly one. No throttle on free accounts, a "guest" download button for anything under 100 MB, and a share page that just worked in any browser. That is why so many mod packs, ROM sets, course archives and fan-sub batches were re-uploaded from Baidu Pan to 123pan in 2024–2025.

It is not the friendly one any more. This post explains what changed, what your options are if you live outside China, and the numbers we measured when we added 123pan to BaiduFast.

What changed on 26 November 2025

123pan announced on its share pages that from 26 November 2025 every download — including small files — requires a logged-in account. The guest download went away. Three consequences follow, and they stack:

1. You need an account. Registration is by phone number, and the number must be mainland Chinese (+86). The email sign-up route exists, but it stops at a "bind your phone" screen before you can download anything.
2. You need traffic. A free account gets 10 GB of download traffic per month (the desktop client is metered at half rate, so effectively 20 GB there). Past that, 123pan charges per GB — ¥0.05/GB for members, ¥0.10/GB for guests — payable only through Alipay or WeChat Pay, which you cannot open without a Chinese bank account.
3. The share page pushes the app. On a phone you are sent to the 123pan app, and the app wants the same +86 number. Links copied from the app look like https://<uid>.mshare.123pan.cn/123pan/<code>?notoken=1 rather than https://www.123pan.com/s/<code>.

The upshot: a link that opened in one click a year ago now stops a person in Brazil, Indonesia or Germany at a phone-number wall, and even a person in China with an account hits a traffic limit after a couple of game folders.

What still works

Ask the uploader for a direct link. Some uploaders buy traffic packs so that their share can be downloaded without login (the "分享方提取流量包" option). Those links work for anyone — until the pack runs out, which for a popular 20 GB folder is a matter of hours.

Buy a Chinese number and a VIP. SMS-receiving services sell +86 numbers, and a 123pan VIP (¥18 a month, ¥98 a year) lifts the traffic limit. It works, but you are paying in yuan through payment apps you cannot open, and a number rented for five minutes is a number you will lose along with the account.

Use a proxy service that already has an account and traffic, and gives you back an ordinary HTTPS link. That is what we do.

What we built, and what we measured

BaiduFast has handled Baidu Pan links since spring 2026 and Quark Pan since September. 123pan is the third cloud in the same box: paste the link on the home page, the size is read from the share before anything is fetched, and you pay only when you confirm — same price list as the other two, files under 150 MB free.

Under the hood the job runs the same way as for Baidu and Quark: the share is copied into our own 123pan drive (that is how 123pan works — you "转存" first, then download), fetched at full speed, and re-uploaded to a CDN edge near you. We measured the fetch step from our server in Finland on 25 September 2026:

Two things stand out. First, 123pan does not throttle the way Baidu does — a single connection already beats Baidu's best. Second, the copy step is instant: a 107 GB folder with 155 files was listed in under a minute, and a 3 GB file was in our drive three seconds after we asked. Quark takes longer to "save", Baidu much longer.

Drive size is not a problem either: we run a 123pan VIP drive (20 TB), so a 100 GB folder is copied and fetched like any other — it just takes a few hours, and you see the estimate before you pay.

Password links and app links

If the share text has a 4-character code (提取码), keep it: either ?pwd=xxxx at the end of the URL or in the second box on our form. Pasting the entire Chinese share message ("链接：… 提取码：…") also works; the code is picked out automatically. App links (mshare.123pan.cn/123pan/…) are recognised as well.

Where this leaves you

If you only ever need small files from 123pan, the honest answer is that there is no free path from outside China any more — the 100 MB guest download is gone for good.
